Summer Flora

Excited to share that Summer Flora painting was juried into and selected for the Sasse Museum of Art catalog titled Ah, Color! published in August, 2026 by Gene Sasse.

“Ah, Color! is the sixth catalog in the Sasse Museum of Art’s international call for entries series. Every page holds a moment when an artist trusted color to say what nothing else could. Every page holds a small moment when … the artist stopped pursuing and let themselves be caught (by color).

Color reaches the emotional brain before it reaches the thinking one. We feel it before we name it. A red is not information. It is a pulse. Before a single line is read or a single shape understood, color has already told us how to feel. It is message, not decoration.

Ah, Color! gathers 123 artists from around the world, selected through an international open call. Their work moves across seven ways of making: 3D and sculpture, collage and mixed media, digital art, drawing, pastel and printmaking, fiber, painting, and photography. One work in each category was chosen as the strongest of its kind. What holds the collection together is not a style or a subject. It is the moment color stops describing the world and starts speaking for it.”
